Financial Controller (m/f/d)

We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and motivated Financial Controller (m/f/d) to join our dynamic Group FP&A team at Damovo, Düsseldorf. In this role, you will play a crucial role in the budgeting process as well as analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights that guide strategic decision-making within the company. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, technical proficiency, and business acumen to drive our data-driven initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze intricate datasets to extract valuable insights that drive informed business decision-making and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process enhancements
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and preparing comprehensive financial reports
  • Assisting in forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Perform comprehensive research and financial analysis to identify potential areas for cost optimization and process improvements
  • Collaborate with departments and regional entities to identify, analyze, interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Collaborate with Group procurement and CFO to implement cost-effective strategies, monitor and manage procurement spend, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and cost-saving initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making
  • Apply statistical methods to ascertain data quality and develop reports
  • Drive the optimization and improvement of reporting through automation and dashboard creation
  • Support financial controllership activities by ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure financial goals are met
  • Ensure data compliance, integrity, and security in line with company and regulatory standards
  • Present and communicate insights and recommendations to senior management

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst role, preferably in the IT or tech sector and proven experience in controlling and financial analysis
  • Proficient in financial software and tools, such as Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems, knowledge of SQL and PowerBI is a plus
  • Strong understanding of data analysis techniques, statistics, and a detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate meaningful insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a positive work environment
