As a Monitoring Specialist (m/f/d) at Damovo, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the monitoring infrastructure used to proactively identify, analyze, and address issues within our internal and external communication and network environments. Your role will be pivotal in minimizing downtime, enhancing system performance, and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain monitoring tools and systems to track the health and performance of communication and network components for on-premise and cloud systems
    Create and manage monitoring dashboards and alerts to promptly identify and respond to issues
  • Monitor real-time alerts and logs to detect and analyze anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and security threats
  • Collaborate with technical teams to investigate and resolve incidents efficiently
  • Identify areas for system and network performance improvement based on data analysis and trends
  • Implement proactive measures to optimize systems and reduce downtime.
    Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring processes, configurations, and incident responses
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, uptime, and incident statistics.
    Develop automation scripts to streamline monitoring tasks and improve efficiency
  • Contribute to the automation of routine maintenance and remediation tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and security specialists, to address issues and implement solutions

Experience and skills we are looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in IT operations and monitoring systems management, preferable in a large-scale enterprise
  • Comfortable with scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, Power Shell, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Linux, Windows and network performance monitoring, application performance management, high-resolution systems monitoring and IT operations analytics
  • Good knowledge on infrastructure protocols to gather element-level event data
  • Good knowledge of open source monitoring technologies like time-series DBs, metrics dashboards, real-time graphing, etc.
  • Proficient with data lifecycles and aggregation, reporting and web dashboards
  • Hands-on experience with one of the popular monitoring products like Zabbix, Solarwinds, PRTG, Splunk, AppDynamics, etc.
  • Broad understanding of ITIL best practices, cloud environments, distributed application architectures, and web-scale technologies
  • Oral and written comprehension of English. German language skills would be considered an added advantage
  • Ability to quickly understand new tools, make complex information accessible
  • Easily adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment
