You will study towards a Higher Certificate in Telecommunications and Data Network Engineering, which is a technician apprenticeship by successfully completing all external assessments through TU Dublin, Tallaght.
You will develop skills both on-site and in the classroom.
Whilst in the classroom you will cover Network Installation, Health and Safety, Telecommunications and Technology & Service Restoration, Electrical Principals, Customer Service, Broadband & Wireless Skills, Optic Fibre Installation, Maintenance & Commissioning and Personal & Professional Development.
You will bring what you have learned in the classroom into the workplace where you will not only get to put what you have learned into practice, but will also get hands on experience with:
- Maintaining computer environments both on-premise and in the cloud
- Maintaining and managing the Testing Environment in our internal laboratory. This will include ensuring all equipment and applications, both physical and virtual, are viable and fit for purpose with the support of the relevant senior engineers
- Monitoring computer systems to improve performance for all systems
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating issues to other employees and management
- Other relevant learning opportunities as they arise
